These are the curtains I started with......I took out quite a few seams, since they were pleated. But I immediately fell in love with the print and the price ($1.45, for 4 panels!!!) I love Value Village!

I found a dress that I based my dress on, also at Value Village ($2.45). I changed it some (no gathering at the waist, not as puffy sleeves). I really love wrap dresses and have never made one so the other dress was a great reference (it was also handmade!)

Here are a few views of the dress on me......

The first pic shows one of the ties goes through a slit in the side seam, where it meets the other tie in the back.

It did take a while to make......but I made a new pattern from it...so maybe if I find some more great curtains I could make another!

This was such a great challenge! I love thrifting anyway....but i really felt like I was on a mission! I can't wait to see what everyone else made!

I think this is the first project I have posted! Yay! I can do the picture thing now!

Judy

I created the pattern from another dress, that I got at the thrift store. So it's really not entirely mine, but i did alter....to suit my needs!

Thank you everyone for the encouraging comments. This really is the best site, there is such a great community here!

I just keep coming back to your dress. It's so lovely. I had to go to a party yesterday & all I could think about was how great it would have been to have worn that little number!

I'm really hoping you can sketch the general shape/design of the panels. I've been trying to find  a pattern for a wrap dress designed like that and I haven't hit gold yet....until I saw your dress! I love the sleeve and dress length, and especially the way it ties in the back!

please post something....anythi ng! Thanks!

I love this dress it is wonderful Smiley......You said they were made from curtains....are they a cottony kind? All the good curtains I find and but would not be suitable for clothes....I'm jealous! It defiantly looks like a pricey dress from a boutique.....you did so well.
