Of course, the problem may be more psychological than biological.

Best line...ever!  I can totally identify with that Wink

I have trouble with paper clay.  I can't get it smooth and it shrinks so much.  I do have to put down the poly clays when I work with them cause I have hot paws too.  Some times it helps to have a fan blowing ...gently..on my hands when I work

Hey everyone, happy Friday!

Don't forget you have four more days to send your matchboxes (and two of those are bonus days, so no whining!)

If you live in the US, happy Memorial Day weekend. Smiley

I have read that placing clay on freezer ice packs  helps keep the clay cool for people with that problem also clay brands play a big role as some as softer than others - Sculpey tends to be softer than fimo- I lean towards sculpey because it is softer (I have rheumatoid arthritis) but there are times when I need a firmer clay and I will go with fimo-

and avoid at all cost Michael's store brand of polymer clay and paper mache clay- I think it is art mind Both products are awful- the polymer clay is way to soft to create any thing detailed and the paper mache clay is all around bad- it starts out way too soft and dries out before you ever have time to finish sculpting

Ditto for their acrylic paint. The absolute WORST stuff I've ever used. When you try to add a second coat the first one comes right off! It's so bad that I only use it is for grunging/aging stuff now.... even then it's pretty damned crappy.

Whew! I am finished with Wulf's matchbox and am nearly through with alteredmommy's! I did have a couple of puzzles to solve along this little journey and I learned a thing or three which is always good.  Grin

Mr. Jivvy's playhouse is the apartment above our detached garage.  Today, I walked across our driveway to get Mr. Jivvy's opinion on the latest addition to my matchbox.

I haven't slept (or showered) in a couple of days.  I have at least five different colors of paint on my hands, face, and clothes. Due to the magnifying visor I've been wearing for the past 48 hours, my crazy ass hair has crossed over into insane asylum territory.

And I'm carrying a weird little box with wicked forest stuff on it.

After getting Mr. Jivvy's opinion, I walked back to my office... only to see our Neighborhood Watch Captain standing at my door. I froze (desperately trying to concoct an escape), but she had already heard me.

The entire time she was explaining why she had stopped by, her eyes flitted from my hair to my hands to the weird little box with wicked forest stuff on it.

But bless her polite self, she never said a word. And neither did I.  Cheesy
