Here's some un-paper towels I made for nilmerg in a personal swap.
They are roughly 10 x 10" on side is flannelette & the other side is terry.
The have snaps so they can attach to each other & be put on a roll.
I used an overlocker/serger to sew them together

And they are amazing. I love them and use them every day. Wonderfully constructed and amazingly useful. Thank you Skittlebub.

These are awesome!  Do they actually fit on a regular paper towel roll?

Yeah, I just saw these on Etsy. They are really so much better than all that paper waste! As I'm not so patient with snaps, I thought of making a bunch that would be folded like paper tissues in a tissue box instead. Less work... I guess I am lazy... But, I LOVE THIS as an alternative for all those paper towel roll addicts. Would make a great gift!

I was thinking about trying it with velcro, but the folded thing sounds promising, too . . . will have to look into these when I have time!!

great idea, I think I should make some (although I need to figure out a solution for the gross wet laundry problem first)

I sent nilmerg 2 extra end snaps she can glue to one of those wooden paper towel holders but if you wanted to you could probably wrap them around the cardboard tube. The toweling would help them to stay on.

The other option is if you have an old baby wipes container & store them in there. then you can pull them out through the hole in the lid.

I've made some for myself before but didn't put snaps on them. I just keep them in a bag in the laundry & get them when I need them
