After seeing this rainbow garland http://www.minieco.co.uk/sewn-paper-garland-2/ I knew I wanted to make one for my daughter's room. It was a quick, naptime project, and I even managed to hang it up while she was sleeping so it was there to surprise her when she awoke.

"Look, Mama! It's a pattern! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple!Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple! Pink! Purple!" Oh, to be three again.

Awww! I may have to do something similar for my 2 year old! She really, REALLY loved when we put streamers and balloons up for her birthday.

I used 12 x 12 paper, and marked a line 3 inches in from the left and one 3 inches in from the right. Then I cut my paper in half, leaving me with 2 pieces of 6" x 12" paper. Then I cut those pieces down to about 1" x 6". Then I just fed the pieces into my sewing machine, using that line that I marked as a guide to sew down the middle of each strip.
I hope you try it, too!
