Crochet Nyan Cat scarf

For my daughter's 13th birthday comes my 4th crochet project, the nyan cat scarf. I made a serious research for patterns, but ended up empty handed since I can't buy online because my credit card is on pause right now, so what's a girl to do but search everywhere and put together a couple of on-line tutorials and patterns I found. I'm pretty much a beginner, so the scarf does have quite a bunch of flaws, but I loved it overall... and my daughter did too.

I had the idea of making the cat's poptart a bag to store an ipod or a cell phone, so the tail end of the body is open; I'm still not sure about what to use to close it:  I might use a button or velcro. The yarn is what's called worsted weight yarn, so the poptart kitty is a bit heavy and drops head down, so I solved this problem by glueing and sewing a hair clip to the back of the body to clip it to a jacket or sweater.

It's not a complex project and I'm sure someone with crochet expertise would crochet this scarf with its eyes closed, but for me it took quite a bit because I'm a stubborn perfectionist self-learner and I can't even sleep knowing the scarf had this or that flaw, so I re-did some parts quite a few times until it was pretty. The one thing I didn't like were the eyes. These are average black buttons instead of pretty plushie eyes I did see on the internet. Sadly, couldn't find any except those ugly google eyes. Meh.

It is surprising although there are not too many crochet tutorials for anything nyan-cat since the theme shows up a lot here!
