I've recently fallen in love with wire wrapped beads and bought some liver of sulfur so I can achieve a more "vintage" look. I am kind of embarrassed by how much I've spent in the bead store recently. This is one pricey craft! Anyhoo, here is my newest necklace and I am kinda in love with it. All of the beads are glass even though they are "gemstone-ish". The pendant is a clay button. All you seasoned jewelry ladies, let me know if you see something that looks terrible or incorrect. I wanna learn!

The beautiful handmade (not by me) leaf printed clay button:

My favorite "bead" is actually catfish vertebrae!

COLORS!

And my handmade clasp, just because I'm proud I pulled it off

Thanks for looking, critiques welcome!

Neat looking necklace  Smiley.

Since you like the bone one, you should try making your own faux bone beads from polymer clay sometime!  (Polymer clay can be made to look like most any material.) This page at my site has the bone, horn and ivory faux techniques if you're interested:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/faux-ivory.htm
Most of the other beads on the necklace could be made with polymer clay too, except for any glass beads where you can see all the way through.

Btw, I don't see any "wire-wrapped beads."  Are you thinking of the wrapped-loop wire connectors between the beads?  (If so, there are some links you may or may not be interested in about wirework on this page at my site too if you want to check them out:

Thanks 80!
I found them at Creative Fringe in Grand Haven, MI. But I actually made something similar before using snake vertebrae off the side of the road. A good boil in a NON FOOD pot and BAM. Instant bead.

I absolutely adore this necklace!  Did you find a tute somewhere on how to do the twisty metal?  And Liver of sulphor, huh?  How cool!  I totally need a new trick for my jewelry making.  And I hear ya about the cost!
