years ago they were popular for making little girls quiet purses.  Cut the bottom   oh I dunno third? off the bottom. punch holes around the opening and crochet the top part , which included a pull string closure.  When "open," the top part slipped down covering the dish soap bottle and forming a baby bassinette with a baby doll stored in the bottom.  Seems they were popular in the late 70s maybe. Around the same time people were crocheting hats made with beer can panels in them. There are probably patterns online...maybe by now they are "vintage"??

how about cutting them into petal shapes and using a candle under them slightly heat up and shape into petal shape. when hardened yyou can paint and embellish.. you can do this with any plastic bottle.. a bunch look great together.
