Plastic Canvas Big Bang Theory Tissue Cover

I know that plastic canvas isn't a really popular medium, but I LOVE it! I was introduced a few years ago and became immediately hooked. It's so versatile as an architectural tool. You can make almost anything your brain can conjure up. I've recently made a ton of tissue box covers (because you know, tissue boxes are ugly). For the Big Bang Theory swap I made this tissue paper cover for my swap partner. It's one of my most favorite projects ever. I wanted to share with you guys

I am also a not-so-secret admirer of plastic canvas. My Gran used to make things with it, cars and entire villages for Xmas and such. It really is versatile. I think I had Barbie furniture from her at one point. I know I stitched a burgundy grand piano for my mum years and years ago. Fun stuff!

I did make the pattern myself. I've made a ton of tissue box covers so the box part wasn't hard. I found a cartoony image on line and ran it through some software to pixilize it. I then translated that into a  cross stitch pattern. Building the box around the image was the easy part.

I'm obsessed with the little villages that people make out of plastic canvas. My SIL is a librarian so I am working on a 3D library complete with books which you can see through the window, chimney, and drop box flap in the front. The roof will be attached hinge fashion so that it can be used as a box to hold stuff! I also have a pattern book for a three foot tall doll house and tons of books for making furniture to go in it! Plastic canvas is a seriously under used medium.
