My (almost)7 year old loves Adventure Time!  (I think it's abit rediculous, but eh... I'm not going to like everything he likes, right?)  I might have to make him a few for cristmas! (not nearly enough time before the big 7 birthday)

Thanks everyone! meleriffic - yes, I made up the patterns myself. It was the design of the characters that first attracted me to the show, so I really enjoyed translating that to crochet.
