When Pigs Fly - featuring Elmer's products

I was inspired by several of Rackycoo's recent elephant projects and a line of paper by Graphic 45 to create this little flying piggy.

I started with a plain paper rhombus-shaped box from Michael's. It originally had a round ball on the cover, which when removed left a hole perfect for anchoring the dowel.  The box is covered in scrapbook paper using an Elmer's glue dot runner. I trimmed the paper to fit using an X-ACTO knife and inked the edges using Elmer's Paint Pens. The clock face is from Tim Holtz, and a ribbon band with a vintage pearl buckle complete the box decoration.

The piggy is paper mache (purchased from Michael's) and painted a copper color. The wings were attached by cutting a slit into the paper mache pig and securing with Elmer's glue. The dowel was secured in the same manner.

The box opens so you can add treats or a special note if you like.

Our aviator friend has a nest to land in.  I glued the dowel into the hole from the original handle, then created a hole in the nest with the X-ACTO knife to thread the nest down the dowel and secured it to the box lid with Elmer's glue. The nesting material is random bits of sparkly fibers lightly needled together.
