Refashioned Bobby Pins

You will need:

    -thread
    -needle
    -scissors
    -bobby pins
    -buttons

Three of these buttons are shaft buttons and one is a sew-through.  With the shaft buttons, I slipped the top leg of the bobby pin through the shaft.  I threaded the needle and ran it repeatedly through the button shaft and around the bobby pin leg.  The button will feel loose but there is a point when you run the needle through the thick accumulation of thread  that it will almost instantaneously tighten up.  I kept up with this until I had just enough thread to tie a knot. 

I liked sewing the sew-through button onto the bobby pin better than the shaft buttons.  I laid the button on top of the bobby pin and ran the needle through the button holes and around the bobby pin leg.  I kept this up until the button felt sewed tightly to the bobby pin and then knotted the thread.

Voila!  Four cute hair accessories for mere penny's!
