Yes, I did it.  I made a French Knot Sheep hoop.  But this one's special.  I was there when the wool came off the sheep.  I washed the wool.  I carded the wool.  I spun it into yarn with this specific hoop in mind.  And of course I embroidered 100s of french knots.  It's a thank you hoop to the Farmers (shepherds?) who allowed to join in thier shearing day last year.  Yes, last year.  I'm a bit late.  But better late then never right? Smiley

And this is the yarn I spun, in skein form.  There are 2 skeins because I let my 6 year old ply one half, because he's interested in pumping the treadles, not so much the spinning, but making the wheel go round.  May as well make it productive right? Cheesy

I love it! What a neat thing to see the wool from start to finished project. One day I hope to do something like that. I have a lot, a LOT to learn before that happens. Smiley Belladune, YOU rock!

Oh my gosh, Bella, that's fantastic!  The sheep to...hoop? story is wonderful, but even without that, the hoop itself is flipping gorgeous!

What a great hoop! I have always loved sheep and your little sheep wandering around are beautiful and cute.

The story behind it, makes it an even greater hoop. Yes of course better late than never, the shearing is done every year so a celebration to that is appropriate every year  Wink!

Really a very lovely hoop Belladune!

What a great idea, you'll always remember shearing day every time you look at it.  Really pretty, Bella.

Thank you!
Wediek, I think it's just fate that I've ended up spinning and getting so involved with it, as I too have always loved sheep.  My mother even said she thought I was a sheep when I was a baby with the noises I made LOL
