This is actually a costume I made a while back inspired by a beautiful corset my husband got for me as an anniversary gift.  I was watching Moulin Rouge one day and decided that I needed a Can-Can outfit for Dragon*Con and thus this costume was born.  I worked at M&J Trimming at the time and had access to a lot of great trims and bits and got a great employee discount to help with it.
At the time I had to make this, I didn't have a fancy ruffle foot for my machine (lords know I wish I had!), so all 70+ yds of ruffles were HAND PULLED, pinned in place and sewn down.  My back hurts thinking about doing all that to this day lol.  Once I completed the skirt I was able to finish the bodice, make the shorts, garter, brain protector, jewelry, hair clip, shoe clips, and a cute pouch to hold all the accessories in.
