Smiley Yup; it happens to the best of us, and the not-so-great of us.

I offered to make Mum a Kwik-Sew #3526.  A nice-sized, nice-looking bag. Just for a day-bag, tote-bag, or grocery bag whichever she chooses.

So, off to the shop named "Fabrications" we go. She knew what it would look like once done. She just had to choose which fabrics she wanted it out of.

She started with a medium-sized Dogwood-flower print on a black background.  Then thought maybe some other print. Maybe this or that. It was a fabric store. I had no rush to be anywhere else.
Eventually, she settled on a wildlife print. Now, the band & handles fabric: dark brown? How about a green (or not), what about a tan vine-print? Great!

Here's the end result of an hour's hunt for "just the right one".

Yup: definite "Bag Envy".

What do you think, Craftsters & guests? Worthy of "Bag Envy"?

Thanks, lovesclutter.

Mum's really thrilled with it.

Now, I'm working on another for my daughter. It has Ladybugs in the print, and a stripe to match for the band & handles. I'll post once done.

M'kay; it's here, on this board, under "This one's so bright, ya gotta wear shades"

Absolutely greenable (green with envy, that is!).  She will cherish the time spent together at the store as well as the darling bag.

For me, picking the fabric for a project sometimes takes longer than the project itself.  Just looking through that fabric stash or browsing the bolts at the fabric stores, imagining the completed works, .. *sigh*  Does anyone else feel like a kid in a candy store?

Thank you, JS. I never thought of her enjoying the fabric hunt as well. She did say the search did take her back (she used to do a LOT of sewing: sewed out 3 machines)
"Kid in a candy store" is a good description.
She does really like th' bag.

*SIGH*

After Mum went into the Bulkley Lodge, Seniors apartments, the bag I would most have enjoyed receiving back (this one) my sister fell in love with and is KEEPING!
 Cry  Tongue  Angry  Shocked

I'm sure she'd give it to me if I asked, but I can make another one. (So often I remember to re-make something that I've previously made.  Undecided )
