Using 8 strands of DK and some 24mm knitting needles I made a cushion cover! It is quick to knit up, I only cast on 20 stitches, but the yarn does get a little tangled in the process!

Action shot!

Wow.  I know it's pretty simple, but the results are amazing.  Also, your knitting with those gigantic needles looks like some sort of weird performance art.

I love the effect that using the 8 different coloured strands gives!

That is really cute and looks amazing! Well done being coordinated enough to do that with 8 strands and huge needles!

Thanks for your comments!  Using the needles is quite a good upper body workout!  Plus you need to sit well away from anyone else - or they will be poked!  It is a great stash buster.

I'm wondering if a rolling pin could double as a cable needle?  Cheesy

I love this!  Beautiful blended colors.  Pardon my ignorance, but what stitch is this?

It is just simple stockinette stitch (knit the front & purl the back).  It looks a little distorted (not the clear 'V' shapes you usually get on the front of the knit side, more like a 'U' shape).  I think this is because it is quite loose, I think I could probably increase the number of yarns used to get a tighter knit (although I might lose my mind undoing all the tangles that will then appear  Grin).

So much fun! This is getting pinned. I should learn to knit, eh?
My mom got me one of these yarn organizer things for Christmas a few years ago and I never used it, but I bet it would come in handy on projects like this. Keep the knots out? Too bad I donated it to the Good Will a couple weeks ago.
