Thanks, I saw that one. Is there a pattern out there that is similar to the green cardi that Penelope Cruz wore? It is so pretty.

Yes! Brainylady blogged about the movie and mentioned the Serrano from Knitty, and I loved the photos so much that I bought 13 skeins of Elan's Baby Silk in Aubergine to make one!

I don't think this one has been mentioned: has anyone seen the Pedro Almodovar film Volver? There are some amazing sweaters in that film. I feel like I have to go see it again because it was too hard to read subtitles and scope out sweater patterns at the same time! If I can find pics I'll post links.

I was watching 'Running With Scissors' last night and fell in love with the hat Evan Rachael Wood wore. It looked to me like a heavily bobbled cap with a brim. And I really liked the orange color.
I love hats with brims!
I bet I could make that cap! I've placed it on a mental To-Knit list. I've already made preps to start on my spring-summer knitting (and then I will start early on my Christmas knits!)

Unfortunately, I dont have any suggestions on the dress... however... I must concur that Gael Garcia Bernal is something fierce.  Oh, his angst and youthful idealism in Diarios de Motocicleta... I havent seen Science of Sleep yet, but I'm queuing it up on Netflix now...

you could probably just use a pattern for a turtleneck sweater and then lengthen it.   no specific ideas here, but I'll keep my eyes peeled...

I think it would be pretty easy to recreate; BUT I'd say it has to be done with really fine yarn, like fingering or sport weight to avoid the bulk of a traditional Aran.  Check out a stitch dictionary for some great cable-panel  ideas. 

I loved that dress, too, and am tempted to dare to wear somehting so short!!!

Ooh! I second that! I can't wait until I can get the DVD to try and do some duplicating :-)

I also loved the hat in the Gilmore Girls episode last night - the pink one Lorelai was wearing. Anyone have any ideas?
