I was watching South Park the other night and the mother of a couple "Ginger" kids (that was the episode on, the one where Cartman becomes a Ginger kid) was knitting.

In Episode 10, Season 1 of Dead Like Me, when George asks Delores why she's knitting baby booties, Delores says she knits baby booties because there the only thing she knows how to knit.

Later, in that same episode, Delores surprises George with a hand-knitted pencil sharpener cozy.

Okay, it's not a movie, but I went and saw a (fantastic!) stage production of Sweeney Todd the other weekend, and Mrs. Lovett just busted out a half-knitted scarf and went at it. I almost died right there. I shook my cousin's arm so hard "MRS LOVETT IS KNITTING! : D : D : D : D" and she just gave me 'the look' and went back to watching.

I was overjoyed, anyhow.

In "The Kite Runner" (which was awesome, but you will probably cry), there are several nice sweaters!

Not to bring back this thread from the dead or anything... but Twilight. The girl in that is wearing a few knitted woollies including some pretty cool armwarmers (or were they mittens?) with bobbles and cables in a slate/blackberry color.

If you've seen the Paramour music video from the Twighlight soundtrack you can knit a very similar hat to the one the singer is wearing at http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/decode_hat.

Enjoy!

I don't think it's been mentioned, but in Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Miri is a knitter! She has a sizeable stash in her and Zack's place, knits hats and scarves for them both, and works at an LYS! The deleted scenes show her knitting in the LYS...she appears to be struggling with the needles, but the amount of detail (the scarves and hats, yarn in bureau drawers, mention that she sold a lot of yarn to someone) was really nice. Someone involved with that movie is a knitter.
I did see this mentioned elsewhere in the Craftster knitting forum, but I just had to put it in this thread!

Could you tell me...why you got a dead man with an arm missing in your boot?

I saw a stage production of Sweeney Todd also, back several months ago, I was also overjoyed with the fact that she was knitting!!  Grin

Hi, Finally I found a topic I can post this in!

Two weeks ago I saw the movie Volver (by Pedro Almodovar). I have to see it at least 2 more times.
One more time because sometimes I got distracted from the story, because there is so many colourfull things to see.
And twice because I need some serious still by still images of all the knitted lace cardigans, shrugs etc. Especially the green one Penelope Cruz is wearing really captured me.

I really love Penelope Cruz's green sweater and am still looking for a pattern for it after all these years. Was anyone ever able to figure out a pattern for the sweater or was anyone ever able to figure out  the lace pattern that was used? I have not been able to find a similar lace pattern.
