oh man! i am so excited for the golden compass! in the trailer Lyra, the main character, wears a pink knit jacket. it looks like garter stitch, and it was knit with a bunch of different yarns, like fun fur almost. i can't get a really good look at it!

Hi, is this pic any help?

did anyone see the jane austen book club?  maria bello wears a few really awesome sweaters in it and one of the characters (kathy baker) actually knits at every meeting.  maria bello wears this really great, cabled shawl collar cardigan in one scene.  she also wears a great fair isle blanket/sweater in a lot of the movie.  i've been searching high and low for some comparable patterns that i can tweak but no luck yet. there aren't any real screencaps of the sweaters.  argh. well if you see the movie, keep an eye out for some awesome knits.
That's out already? I saw the previews of it awhile back and wanted to see it really bad. I'm going to have to look at the theater now!

I just saw it today, and LOVED not only all of the fabuous knit wear, but Emily Blunt's entire wardrobe. I love the movie, and I want to go see it again with a notebook, so I can take some costume notes Wink

I attempted to make the scarf seen in Igby Goes Down, but I got bored.

Picture here.

Plus, I figured it would just look like a failed Gryffindor scarf.

And just last night I decided to try my hand at crocheting a kerchief after seeing several characters wearing one on the first season of Gilmore Girls. I haven't gotten very far.

In Rob Zombie's Halloween, the mom (in the 70's parts) wears some bitchin' sweaters.   Cheesy

So I have been very happy to see the amount of knitting going on recently in cinema. While watching No Reservations, each character seemed to have at least three different knit hats and three scarves.

Of course, an internet search brings up only the same three photos over and over and it was not good enough to endorse renting. Many music montages were used in lieu of character development through dialogue so I did not find myself caring about the characters as much as usual but maybe a little wine would help!
Tiny pic of flowered hat on Breslin's head:

Same hats as before except Breslin's starred hat

A babysitter is seen putting away her knitting at one point too! Has anyone else seen recent movies with knitters or knitting?

Thank you! Sometimes you can find which episode has what in it on Wikipedia.org.
