Hi
so... in 4 months I'll be moving across the pond (well, actually, across two ponds) from Israel to Durham, and I'll be studying in NC State.
I'm gonna need crafty friends and possibly a stitch 'n' bitch circle to make the move easier.
obviously, I'm a bit early here, but I guess this is sort of my stress-relieving technique... to know that some things are sorted.
so.... knitting circles? yarn stores? I wanna know all about them.
please

There's a Yarns Etc.../Great Yarns right near NSCU: http://www.yarnsetc.com/indexgy.html
I've never used their social nights, but they have them.

That being said, I try to have people over one night every few weeks to have a general craft/socialize thing. It's supposed to be once a week, but it doesn't always work out with schedules. It could also be relocated to a coffee shop or something if you're interested. I live maybe 10 minutes from campus.

In Durham, there's a Stitch N Bitch that meets on Tuesday evenings at Foster's Market (the Durham one, not the Chapel Hill one), and another group (Knit Night in Durham on Meetup.com) that has been meeting in a private craft studio on Thursday evenings but is on hold for the moment due to the organizer having a baby.

Also, be sure to check out the Scrap Exchange in Durham - it's pretty much crafting heaven. I think they hold a Stitch N Bitch too, but I have not been to it.
