I am so excited about this project! I had the inspiration when my swap partner sent me some great Ghastlies fabric that was just begging to be made into a quilt. I cut it up into "scenes" and decided on 10 block patterns that I would make 2 each of at 14 inches each (finished 13.5, I know that's wack, but that's what happened Cheesy) in a 4 x 5 grid pattern.

I am going to make another one of these and have a tute up, probably next month-ish, but basically for almost every pattern you create a 10 inch block, put on a 2.5 inch border and arrange them in a checkerboard pattern according to their border pattern (here, pink and black). Finished dimensions figure to 54.5" x 68" but I was probably a smidge smaller because of trimming a few squares that came up a bit shy of the 14 inches.

Large Scene Blocks:

(when the pieces are rectangular or oddly shaped, frame it out to the correct size!)

Nine Patch Blocks:

Corner Log Cabin Blocks:

Coin Blocks:

Off-Centered Blocks:

Uneven Strips Blocks:

Four Patch Blocks:

String Blocks:

Four Patch in a Four Patch Blocks (I need a name for this...it's kind of a shrinking down of the basic Q4K pattern)

Basic Light/Dark Log Cabin Blocks:

Sorry for all the pics but I'm super excited about this project! Smiley

You are right to be excited about this project! I tip my hat to everyone, who has the patience to make quilts, but I especially like this one because of your choice of fabrics and color- the Ghastlies fabric just rocks!
