I painted this little dog portrait of MissingWillow's sweet dog, Jenna. The base is a 4" by 4" block of wood, and it's painted with acrylic paints.

I originally had a beaded wire for hanging, but it just didn't look right, so I added silver bead caps for feet. It seemed like it was missing something, so I grabbed this huge glass heart bead that's been sitting around in my craft room for years now, and attached it to the top.

Here's the sides. The red ribbon is hiding the holes on top where the wire used to be attached.  Cheesy

And here's the picture of Jenna I used for reference. It's she the sweetest?

I think the feet really finish it. I'm sure she loves it.

Thanks! I don't consider myself a painter, so I was really pleased at how it turned out.

I love this!  I have been wanting to do something similar with photos of my 2 dogs.
Yours came out so well, and I love the feet!

So awesome! Just saw this on your blog, I think it's amazing that you painted that (not like, you precisely, but that anyone could paint that, I thought it was some kind of image repro technique!)

This is such a special work of art. It's so sweet and I know MW will cherish it. Your painting skills rock and I love the font with the little heart. Great details!
