THANK YOU so much for all the well wishes and support from my fellow crafters @^^@ I'm in better spirits now...so much so that I've managed to work a little bit on Silvermoon's crafted extra(s) while re-watching Buffy last night  Wink. Here's a hint: Purple hair.  Grin
Still about 4 pages behind though  Undecided My last entry was a little "teenage girl-ish" Talking about boys. LOOOOL.

May is quickly becoming my least favorite month, ever. My tooth fell out Friday. =/

I'm almost completely caught up. My gesso substitute was not working at all, so I've decided to just skip it and use extra paper, and that's working heaps better, plus no more waiting for paint  to dry before journaling. I think I only have one or two pages left to put in (which are already written, digitally, I just have to copy them.

Oh no, ZombriNation, I hope it will not involve a too costly visit. I can sympathise though...the dentist has made an appearance in my journal for this month.  Sad

I think I did my favourite page so far today, which was for yesterday, but considering I did not get home till nearly midnight, and had to be up at 6am for work today, there was no way I was going to get anything done last night. Now its nearly midnight again, and I have done 3 more backgrounds....May is having a distinct lack of sleep. Tongue

I'm still a few days behind with journalling - I have lots of scraps of paper to transcribe.

I'm just pleased that I haven't had a huge rant-y page or my usual foul language, every-other-word diatribe about crazy Californians or politicians. But there's still time left - who knows what might piss me off!

yep we Caifornians are all crazy nutbars. Feel free to rant anytime. I know I do!  Wink Grin I haven't done any painting pages at all with my journaling. I find gesso too damn expensive even for a little tub but maybe painting a page an inserting it in first may be a good option. How very simple and clever. Nice one Susan!  Grin

Have you tried white acrylic emulsion instead of gesso? It does the same job but not nearly as expensive. Maybe try one of those inexpensive tester pots to see if it will work for your purposes...?

Yeah, I wasn't using real gesso. Which is probably why it didn't work the way I wanted.

I'm going to be posting late. I get paid monthly, and while I thought I'd have enough this month to post out, I just received one of the extras I ordered for IsikkahJai and it's going to put me over 250g. That's almost double the postage. Rather than skip sending these extras (because I know she's going to LOVE them) I'll be three days late with sending - payday is the 17th (Sunday) so I should get it by late Monday and can post then. Given that IsikkahJai might be slightly behind on a personal swap we did, I don't think she's going to mind waiting a few extra days for extra goodies.

Posting this here to be completely transparent. (Much like my no good, homemade, gesso)
