I really love all the creative felt badges that LimeRiot has been making lately (you can view some of them here), so I decided to try to make one myself. My daughter's birthday is coming up, and I know she would love to sport a cat-eye glasses badge, as she wears a lovely retro baby blue pair of cat-eyes herself.

Here's what I made:

Complete with rhinestones! It measures approximately 1 1/2" by 2 1/2".

These little badges are fun to make, but I do think if I were going to make several, I would invest in better quality felt. I just used the cheapy kind from Michaels on this one, because that's what I had in stock.

Yes, they're felt. I have a really nice glasses stamp that I stamped on the back of the felt so I would have a pattern to cut out. (I'm a cheater whenever possible!)

Thanks! I used to have baby blue cat eye glasses too. Hers are very similar to the ones I wore back in the late 60's/early 70's. It cracks me up that they're back in style, because I remember being so excited when I got my wire rimmed "granny glasses" and left those cat eyes behind.  Cheesy

Very sweet! I love the rhinestone detail. And what a great idea to use a stamp for the pattern! That's not cheating, it's ingenious!  Grin.

Thankfully, I can not find the pic of me in kindergarten in my cat eyes in '68.  Or I would have posted it, causing me nothing but grief I am sure.  I have never been good with change, so I would probably still be wearing them, had my face not fit in them anymore  Grin
