I am so excited about this piece.

I used both undyed and hand dyed Merino top, hand dyed Lincoln locks, cotswold/suffolk cross locks, and wensleydale/coopworth lamb locks, and some firestar for sparkle.

It is both wet felted and needle felted for detail and measures approx. 8.5 in. x 7.5 in.

I would LOVE to get some feedback. We have a fiber fest coming up and I'd like to submit this in a category! I've never put a piece in anything before, so I am stoked.

I love the texture!! It does read as coral reef/seascape.  Good luck at the fiber festival!

Was the white base felted before you added any colors? It is a very interesting composition, definitely reminiscent of a seascape.

This looks like it would be a lot of fun to make with the kids. Well, the wet felting part, not so much the needling, but you get the idea. Thanks for inspiring me!

I felted most everything together along with the base and then needle felted in the details.

If you want to do this with kids, the ziplock bag method is fantastic. You have them build a little square and do the design on the top layer, put some warm, soapy water in a ziplock, seal it, and have them rub it. Easy peasy!
