04/05/12 - April Fools Katster, the Aftermath!

Sunday and Monday were our days of crazy April Fools wackiness and of course, it was a blast!  Here's a look back on just what happened around here over those two pawsome days.  Luckily, Craftster has a TON of kitty crafts!  We had absolutely no problem finding projects and swaps to feature.

Some of our newly-themed blog features included a variety of kat-related topics! There were plenty to choose from, as Craftster, really does have LOTS of cat-related crafts!

The monthly Kraft Khallenge was announced.  Unfortunately, it was later cancelled, darn it.  Read more about it and some of the project brainstorming over here on the Khallenge thread.

Everyone's avatars randomly appeared from a pool of 12 silly putty tats:

The avatars were a huge hit and got lots of giggles!

• On another note my picture has changed, would there be any reason for this, can someone else log onto my account?
  

Possibly even funnier was when some member Personal Texts were combined with the new avatars.

Our fabulous team of Moderators got purrfect new usernames, too!  Each username was an actual cat character.  We grabbed most of them from this list.

Our April 01, 2012 Featured Projects were kattastic.  We used all cat-related crafts that had already been featured in the past.

And of course, our news blurbs and tips were ever so very helpful.

• Just Kitten:  What is a cat's favorite color? Purrrrrrrple!
• Random Tip:  Please don't forget to dig and bury!
• Random Tip:  Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It is not necessary to do anything. Just sit and stare.
• Just Kitten:  Did you hear about the cat that swallowed a ball of yarn?  She had mittens.
• Breaking Mews:  Craftster gets a face lift!  Read more here.

The best part for us is always the same, though -- your reactions!  We get so many smiles from those of you who play along and even those of you who just have no clue what we are talking about.

• As we make this most welcome (and long overdue!) transition, it is a relief to see that Katster members are not yet turning to the use of lolcatspeak. Always remember, kitties are wonderful creatures who deserve our love* and having this website devoted to them, but they are poor role models when it comes to written and spoken English.
  
  * Felines will argue that "love," in that sentence, should be replaced with "worship".

There are times when one of mine hears me kind of maybe heading in the direction of the bathroom and comes RUNNING. I'm convinced it's because they get a captive audience.

Actually I think that would have been ok, even with all my other weird spelling tics, lolspeak seems like its own thing so it cracks me up? hehe!

Ha, I don't have pets but this reminds me of when I was at a friend's house recently. The bathroom leads to the laundry room, where the pets' food is. I shooed the giant dog out because I didn't want it watching me pee. As soon as I sat down, the cat waltzed out of the laundry room, plopped down right in front of me, and gave me the evil eye until I was done. #peeingalonefail #sorrytmicraftster

My cat follows me into the bathroom. She likes to watch the toilet flush.
And, no matter how fresh the refill in her water bowl, she eagerly uses the toilet as a personal punchbowl.... then cleans herself... then, when she is good and saturated with toilet germs, she wants to snuggle or give kisses.
And people say dogs are gross LOL

Mine must of missed this! but one of them *does* bring us cat toys so he can play fetch!!

Mine does this too! He tries to jump in my lap though.... Although oddly he won't follow my boyfriend into the bathroom.
