Thanks to Rlynn's Pinterst I found this blog and this tutorial and woah! Rocks + felting + stitching? What's not to love here?

My first stitchings were some random flames for the OTT Hunger Games swap:

Satin "12"

And I stitched these for Rlynn for the March OPS:

And here is one after I cut the rock out because I thought the rock was one I needed in white, but then I found a better shaped/sized stone so this one is just empty. I wonder what I'll do with it.

I saw those while lurking the swap gallery & think they are so cool! Such awesome & unique pieces!

Question, though, I wasn't able to find a blog post there about how they were embroidered? I'm assuming after felting? I'm probably missing something super obvious, but could you share how you stitched them?

Thanks for the kind words so far.

Yeah, I don't think she'd want to give away her secrets.  Wink I stitched them after I felted them. It really is just like stitching on fabric, but you can't go straight up and down so you have to angle the needle to where you want it to come out next. I don't know how to explain it better than that. It was really easy! My husband didn't understand how I was doing it but that's not too surprising, right? He doesn't understand most of my crafts.

Yea, I don't blame her. Wink Thanks for the info, I guess I should have suspected that, but for some really it didn't click. lol Oh well, now I know! Smiley My husband is totally the same way, he just doesn't get it. Oh well, gotta love 'em anyways I suppose. Cheesy
