The lovely sheepBlue invited me to swap with her in the Invite Your Partner swap and I decided I wanted to do an anatomical heart for her, but I wanted to make it a little interesting. So I decided on beading! I used three reds and a blue. I started by sketching it out and doing an outline stitch around the edges, then I just started filling in. When I finished I decided it was missing something, but then the idea hit me to play off the pattern of the background fabric to make blood splatters!

(thanks sheepBlue for these awesome photos!)

And a couple more shots:

Thanks for looking! Cheesy

This is fantastic!  I love how the beads give the piece dimension...adding the spurts was a great idea...very fun piece and nicely done!  I am sure she loved it!

Completely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The beading works great, the colours you chose are perfect and the background fabric with blood spurting stitches makes it fabulous creepy and emotive.  Fabulous job.
