We bought this dresser for my daughter when she was a toddler (about 10 years ago) and it finally became to small to hold everything and since her desk was "little kid" size as well I took the dresser and turned it into a "big girl" (don't tell her I said that!) desk.

It turned out to be a lot easier than I expected, the hardest part was waiting for drying times.  Grin
And since I used the hardware from the the dresser the only thing I had was the paint and polyacrylic.

She picked out the stencils and I used the paint we had leftover from painting her room:

I also gave her a chalkboard square (2 tablespoons unsanded grout and between 3/4 and a cup of any paint)

There are more progress pictures and information on my blog if anyone is interested.

wow that's really cool! I didn't even recognise it as formerly a dresser, it took me awhile to figure out how you'd done it.  Cheesy

Looking for teal/turquoise/aqua, grey and white (or a combo) fabric for a quilt.

My son loves Peppa Pig's brother George and Raa Raa the noisy lion.

I love repurposing projects, most especially when those round you look at you like you're a moron. Then a couple of weeks go by, and they retort like nice shelving unit where did you find this??? Remember when you thought I was nuts?? Yeah, that's my nuts! Lolol seriously, a convo I actually had. Lol great job on the desk, I love it!

great transformation of furniture! And it matches the wall, that's pretty! I didn't know you can make your own chalkboard paint, thanks for the tip!
