I did this simple weaving using bamboo canes and some rug yarn.  Simple in and out.  I initially taped the sticks up to get started (and then removed this at the end).  Creates a flexible structure, might be interesting to use this method to create a circular shape (? plant pot cover maybe?)

It's amazing. I can see making a really big one with lots of large cane and very thick rope so it could be stood up in a ring for a terrific kid fort. It could be a make-believe raft, a room divider, a stand alone wall treatment or headboard, a window blind, etc etc etc. Wow.

I wondered if you could use ripped up plastic bags with the bamboo canes to create a weaving for in the garden.  Or using embroidery threads and weave pencils to create a pencil / pen pot.  I need more time in the day!  Grin
