Oh -- good to know!  I thought because your sample had fold-over elastic that the pattern would work best with it.

So for regular elastic, would you just fold in the hem and pin it, then  zig-zag stitch regular elastic over the hem?  (I've made fitted cloth diapers using a similar technique, except the diapers were constructed with multiple layers and the zig-zag stitched elastic was done with the dipes inside out.)
