It's finally warming up here in the Pacific Northwest - it has been unseasonally cold and Jose' has needed a jogging suit and a coat on when he goes out for a walk. Today it is warm enough for him to wear his new spring outfit.

The shirt is made from a green, navy, and white striped tank top that I no longer wore. I lined it with white jersey knit for a little more warmth. The pants are made from navy polar fleece that I dressed up a bit with a bone applique with his name embroidered on it.

You don't need a permit for a glue gun.

omigosh. his little derpy tongue! I love it.

And you know, I've always wanted to make clothes for my dog, but I always thought 'he's just going to pee on it'. I  hadn't even thought about working around those bits. He's a crochety, old, mini Maltese and gets super cold, super easy.  I think you just opened up a world of possibilities.

Give it a try - I based my pattern loosely on this one

The one piece suit from this pattern is pretty simple to make - it's a good one to start with.

ACK!  What a jaunty little fellow!  And your suit looks so finely tailored to him.

I had to experiment a bit to get it to fit him - he is a bit of a funny shape, quite barrel chested even though he is quite skinny. The rejects went to a friend whose dog has a smaller chest - they fit him perfectly.

That's why I should have a dog instead of two lazy cats. At least, i could make him cute outfits that he would be happy to get. Your dog and the jogging suit are adorable.
