Overnight Oatmeal

I'm always looking for something different and quick for my breakfasts. When I found this over on Pinterest, I knew that I had to give it a try!

My version of Overnight Oatmeal

1/2 cup rolled oats (not quick or instant!)
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk

You dump those ingredients in a container, stir it up and cover. Refrigerate overnight. Add toppings of your choosing. I added dried fruit bits and bananas to this batch.

That looks great! How is the texture? I usually can only eat steel cut oats because I have this weird texture thing Hoping it's still a bit chewy!

It is raw!

The mouth texture is similar to that of tapioca (which I love) but a bit chewier. You could always soak it less for it to be chewier.

I'm not sure how the steel cut oats would work since they are firmer. I'd try it since the amounts used in a serving are relatively small. I'm thinking that steel cut would take a longer soak.

Yeah I don't know that steel cuts could ever soak long enough to work like that! I might try with rolled oats!

I tried the PB and bananas. I love the bananas but the tartness of yogurt does not mix well with the PB. Oh well....worth a try.

great use for the 25 kg bag of rolled oats my neighbor just bought home to share with me.......thats a lot of pudding....

I also found another one that uses chai seeds, rolled oats, banana or protein powder. then add fruit/sugar in the morning it was very nice. I think I prefer to use yogurt though.
