(ETA finished product for front page... been so long I've posted, I forgot about that!)

Haven't posted in this side of the forum very often, but I wanted to show off my latest work.
It started out conventionally with a random idea of 2 phoenixes and a pack of oil and chalk pastels. And I'll show how I kind've evolved it into the finished product (keep in mind I haven't picked up a pastel since the 3rd grade, so bear with my noobishness here
).
I decided that I wanted to add an element of music to it, so I decided that I wanted the blue phoenix to be slightly reminiscent of a treble clef. So I kinda started playing around with that idea....
But I liked the simplicity of the first doodle so I backed off a little on the scribbles. I also *really* got excited about the idea of turning one into a "typical" phoenix of fire and another phoenix of water. The two phoenixes are supposed to represent my partner and I. I am very fiery and really identify a lot with the imagery of a phoenix, whereas he is much more of a water sign. And I wanted the two to also be twisted around the other since our creative process is very give and take and him doing things that inspire me and me doing things that inspire him... we feed off each other and produce the most amazing things due to that.
So I really liked that one.
Input into photoshop and mask out the image with a black background, smooth it out a little:

But yeah, so I'm *really* proud of it. It's my first logo work but I think it's pretty good if I do say so myself (although I'm no expert, so C&C is much appreciated!). It was really easy to create a black and white version as well for letterheads and stamps and such. Plus the business cards look very awesome.
I'm not intending to advertise the business here, just show off the artwork and share my creative process.
