I didn't really know where to put this, so miscellaneous it is! Not the most creative thing in the world, but I'm sure there are other people like me who have film and wonder what the heck to do with it.
I bought the trailer for Amelie, my favorite film, and today when I came across this 12X48 stretched canvas I had an idea of what to do! It could probably be executed better, but the trailer was inexpensive and the newer films aren't very difficult to find so I had no worries about if things didn't quite turn out! (I probably wouldn't reccommend using your E6 film with precious memories.)
I used the head, foot, and opening green screen to go around the borders because with the wooden frame light wouldn't show through those areas anyway. And then I just started filling it in with strips.
Here it is leaning against a window (though I really don't think that's very safe for maintaining the film quality)
My initial thought was that I would use Christmas lights or something similar behind it, but the ones I have are a bit too yellow and spotty.
I'm going to look for some of those LED light strips; I think they'll do the job!
You can actually still see most everything even when it's just on the wall, so I'm pretty pleased! Would love any comments or critiques on how to make a better one. I was thinking I could do something with sandwiching the film between sheets of plexiglass and having a wooden frame - basically like making a lightbox.
Thanks for looking!
