I made this tin for racky for our IYP swap.
The clown face is a vintage cup cake pick cut in half, painted and aged with Quinacridone gold. The face of the piece was cut from the card board off the back of a sketch pad. (that's some hardy card board!)
I drilled a hole in the top of the tin and secured an eye pin with glue and a bead....that allows the chain and box to dangle.

The theme of our swap was the phrase "It was here she kept her best stories." and I used the words from an old dictionary and glued them to a wee house.

Side view of detail...

It's fantastic!  I think by painting over the clown face, you made it so much more interesting.

This is so great - and even though I have no idea WHY racky has a thing for those creepy clown heads, I love that you painted it- now it looks properly creepy - not like it's trying to trick you into think he's a GOOD clown.  Smiley  The details are what makes it - another fabulous tin!

No one can know.  Cool

Words cannot describe how much I love this tin, especially that clown head. I never would have thought to paint one up like that, but I'll be stealing borrowing that idea in the future.

Awesome altered tin!  What inside the wee box?

Well, it came with three tiny dice, but I made some wee scrolls to put inside to represent racky's stories and forgot to put them in. So it still has three dice. Darn it.

LOL - that sounds SO like something I would do.  Did you steal that box from the Queen of Knick Knackery?  Wink

Ah, I guess that means that racky's gonna have to write some stories and put them in the box Cheesy

I never!!! The Queen remains inviolate!
I found the box at Michaels shopping with MissingWillow. I said, "Hey, that is the charm 'bird put on the Queen. I really like that charm." And I bought it. It's been sitting in my stash waiting for the right project ever since.
Besides, the Queen would never allow anyone to touch her knik-knacks....it wouldn't be proper.  Cheesy
