My first niece was born last January and this past Christmas I knew I had to make her something amazing!  At first I was going to make her a hat and bootie set but my Dad told me that it's impossible to keep anything like that on her, she just rips it off right away lol
I searched around for quite a while and settled on this gorgeous pattern

I thought it looked so beautiful in the bright red so I used Vanna's Choice in Scarlett. I was so pleasantly surprised at how easy the pattern was to follow. It's worked from top to bottom and is almost all one piece. The straps are separate pieces you make afterward. I stuck with white ribbon and little roses. I also decided to buy a little white turtleneck she could wear with it.

On to the pics...(there's a ton because I'm super proud of this!)

and here I am with the little peanut looking so pretty in the dress at her 1st birthday party!

Thanks for looking, C&C always welcome!!

Fabulous! Superb job, she looks utterly adorable!! I love Vanna's Choice yarn, it's one of the best acrylics out there. So soft and squishable! Smiley

Thank you all so much for the kind words!!  When my step sister opened the box my Aunt got so excited and said it is a family heirloom.  It really touched my heart to have my family think something I made is going to be in our family for years  Roll Eyes

The yarn really is sooo nice!  Squishable is exactly the word I'd use to describe it!
