Even though this thread started on a bad note, I am THRILLED to join in!

I think that is why people are slow to join. I tried to handle that as politely as I could. The swap is not limited to just the muppets, it's open to anything he's done. Im kind of down about the whole thing because I just want the swap to be fun.

I agree!  Don't be down.  While I understood the other person's interest was only in one particular thing, the attitude presented about making for others was just snotty.  I don't think they intended it that way, but it is definitely how it came out.

I totally want to join!  But, I know that adding another swap at this time is just not going to work for me.  I feel I am still too new to swapping to jump into too many Tongue

No snottiness intended here dew.  I have an honest ?  Who owns Fraggle Rock?  Does HBO, Disney, or Jim Henson?  I searched it, and can't really come up w/a definitive answer.  The answer will do 2 things for me.  1. Settle a debate and 2. Help w/a personal swap

My only reservation is that metal work and carpentry doesn't lend itself to puppets well, and that is my forte. I'll have to ponder and see if I can think up some ideas before I decide if I can participate in this swap.

Sorry I'm slow on the response, but carpentry and metal work both could be perfect mediums for Jim Henson crafts! The things that come to mind for me are etchings, composite wall art and maybe something with some Jim Henson/character quotes? Go crazy! I'm sure whatever you come up with will be awesome!

I watched that documentary with my mom. It was great. We both cried which I was surprised at. I also highly recommend watching the film, it's available on netflix streaming. I very briefly met Kevin Clash once and he is really just as nice as he seems.

The question is really one of time involvement, for example, if I were to make one of the Garthim out of metal I would likely be investing a good 10-20 hours in getting it right. While I greatly enjoy doing such things, that amount of effort in production and finishing a piece generally doesn't equal much in the point system for the swaps (as I understand it, I could be wrong).
