Hi again. Time for another dress. Today was gorgeous again so I took the chance to wear another Spring/Summer dress. I am planing on making a copy of one of the dresses January Jones/Betty Draper wears in one of the earlier episodes but the fabric isn't with me yet.
So I made this in the meantime getting in the Betty mood.

It's a simple fitted bodice, ties at the shoulders with a very very!!! full gathered skirt.
I also made another petticoat to go underneath to maximum Betty poof. This time in red to match the dress of course  Grin

What do you think, would Betty be seen in this?

Ooh, this is lovely!  I really like the fabric and, of course, the poofy skirt.  Still haven't seen any Mad Men though, so can't get back to you on the whole Betty issue.  Gorgeous work though Smiley

Cute! I like the summer-y ties on the shoulders.

Definitely Season 1 Betty appropriate (not so much bitter, new Betty). Can't wait for costume porn Mad Men to come back!

Gorgeous dress!

Just wondering, when you make your colored petticoats, do you do the whole thing in that color or just do the bottom layer in color and the rest in white?

Thank you so much
@ivoryh1632 I make the whole thing in the same colour. The net I use is the same price in any colour. This one and the blue one in the other post are a tier of lining and the 3 tiers of gathered net. Very simple and fast, creating a great effect.
