A quilt I designed and made.  Inspired by the Andy Warhol painting of Marilyn Monroe.  The quilt measures 2m x 2m and is hand quilted.

I made it to be auctioned for charity at a charity event here in Dubai. The theme of the event is 'Chocolate at the Movies" The gold in her hair is made from chocolate foil-wrappers.  I reinforced it with iron-on interfacing but it is quite fragile and working with it was a challenge!

This is the back of the top layer.
At the moment the quilt hangs in the shop window of the Craft Land shop.  The are sponsoring me.

I love this!  Where is the Craft Land?  I lived in Dubai for 3 months and never knew there was a craft store!

Hi YumJello

It is in the Town Center Jumeirah in Beach Road.  Next to Mercato.  The shop has been there for about 2 years now.

The effort really shows... gorgeous!  The foil idea is genius and must have been so challenging!

That should bring in some great money for your charity.  Beautiful.  Your patience in dealing with the chocolate wrappers makes it even more amazing.
