so i got obsessed with making beaded rings after seeing some in a store. theirs were pretty unimaginative and probably made by child slaves so i decided to make my own, lol

i particularly like this one

It's so adorable! I love how its feet hang out of the circle Cheesy

What kind of base did you use to embroider this? Fabric, felt...?

thanks! I used a piece of fabric i cut from a duffel bag that was ripped. the benefit of it was that it had a fairly large weave and was a strong fabric.

in case you wanted to make one: After you make the beaded circle, glue a ring base onto it and cut out a circle of fabric for the back. Cut a slit in the back piece and slip it over the ring hole and glue it down. this way the back piece covers all the threads from the bead embroidery. Smiley

HA!
I DO want to make one - for a very disabled friend who is mad keen on owls.  (or was)
I was trying to think of how to ask you for directions, when you provided the quick and dirty steps.
Now all I have to do is work on making a beaded circle. (I am not a beader at all, ever.)

Thanks for showing us this - as well as your matter-of-fact description.

I forgot to mention that for the bead embroidery circle you should use a piece of fabric that wont fray at the edges. or use some kind of glue (super glue?) to coat the edges so you wont end up with a frayed ring. Smiley

happy beading!
