Oh my goodness, how cute!! I had a train set (HO scale) when I was a kid. I loved it. Took up most of the living room. LOL Sadly, I don't have it any longer but your Dad's is cool!

Well, Jay and I just got home from another weekend in Southern Oregon. Our plans to get to Crater Lake were foiled again.. but instead we drank copious amounts of delicious Dutch Bros coffee, made the most amazing burrow bed for my puppy Loki, saw some geese at the Rogue River, and went to the shooting range. We had a great time visiting family. I think next weekend we are going to venture out to the river, and possibly try to get out to some waterfalls. I will try to post some pics soon!

So Emmett's visit to IKEA reminded me that we hadn't been to IKEA Tampa in months and months. And we decided to go this weekend.

I thought that given the fact all IKEA stores tend to carry mostly the same items it would be fun to try and get the same kind of pictures with Carlisle, just the version of the display my store had. Armed with the original pics saved on my cell phone for reference, I tried to track down the same furniture/settings to recreate them with Carlisle. This was a a lot of fun - almost like a scavenger hunt! So I'll put the inspiration picture by michelleandbean with Emmett first, then the one I took with Carlisle visiting me.

Here's Emmett with michelleandbean:

And here's Carlisle with me in Tampa:

I found it neat to see the differences in the displays between the two stores. Obviously, there must be some flexibility in the details and the accents used. Like, they used different curtains in the dining room set between her IKEA and mine. Every time I saw a piece of furniture though that matched, I was like AH HA! and ran to take a photo. Love just laughed at me for being silly. But it was a lot of fun!! Grin

(As always, you can click on any of Carlisle's pics for larger versions or see his entire gallery HERE)
