we took Monty to visit the beach and got rained out... had lots of fun but sadly it did not involve sand or waves...

Monroe hasn't had much fun lately. I was really sick for 3 weeks and we were stuck in the house. I'm finally feeling better and now the weather is awful! We went over to my hunny's house with some chips and queso. = ]

I'm going to get started on Monroe's scrapbook sometime this week.

We've spent so much time taking Love to the neurologist, today I decided to bring Carlisle along for the visit. Not for the doctor part, but rather for the amazing "Grand Oaks" on the property. A Grand Oak is defined by it's size and age and the trees there are some of the oldest in Hillsborough County. (Tampa, Florida) It's estimated to be somewhere around 500 years old! Shocked

(Click either image for larger version. Or visit all his pictures here.)

There's even a plaque on the tree about it's status.  Grin

This is the younger and smaller of the two trees that flank the building to give you an idea of size and scale. (Though the pics make these trees look smaller than in real life. The branches are massive and there are so many of them you can't even photograph the whole thing!)

(Click for larger)

They designed the building around the trees and it has glass walls and section of it's roof so you can see the trees all the way to the top when you're in the lobby. It's pretty neat.

That is so great that they designed the building with the trees in mind! I *LOVE* people/companies who do that!  <3

I've ordered my pictures and I really hope that they get here quickly. I might be in trouble otherwise... I've tried to decorate the scrapbook, but transparent paint on black is not very visible so I need to find better paint!

Oh that tree is amazing! It should be in a fairy tail!

Burtrum with the miniature watermellon is cute, I am growing tomatoes in my kitchen right now and they have just popped up out of the soil. It is very exciting. I have tried to grow something only once before, it died and I was put off attempting again but I found these indoor plant kits in a hardware store that give you the pot, seeds, plant foods, heat lamp and everything all in the one package with instructions. Very good for idiots like me who do not know what the heck they are doing. I am keeping fingers crossed the plant continues to do well and makes me some nice tomatos soon Cheesy

I'm still here, working on some souvenirs to send back....  School started a few weeks ago, so activities have slowed a bit, but Aurora's still enjoying the sunshine, and we went snorkeling this morning!
