Don't forget this weekend's trip to the Netherlands! There are swans on the stream in front of our house, they make for pretty pictures Smiley

Lilibet is coming over on Sunday, not Saturday. Me and my boyfriend are planning to go hat shopping for him though (we're part-vampire, put our heads in the sun for a short while, and we both get headaches!) so if I can find hat shops in Amsterdam, we might be near and meeting up would be fun! I'll PM you my phone number Smiley

Happy birthday!  Cheesy

I went to Amsterdam yesterday to do some shopping for summer cloths and met Naantje and her boyfriend (who's not in the photo, because he's the one who took the picture)

A market near the Waag (weight house) that dates from the Middle Ages.

Mushrooms!

This house was called the "Ambassy of Mars", so I recon this would be the ambassador  Roll Eyes

And today was a Japanese festival in Leiden with music, art, food, etc.

We had sweet fish cakes with custard, chocolate and bean filling, yum!

Oh very cool! I've swapped with her in the past; most recently sending her a "Bubble Tree" (A tree of life pendant made from glass pearls that look like bubbles.) It's always neat to see Craftsters meeting other Craftsters! Makes me jealous. Cheesy

Woo hoo!  Went to the beach tonight for a birthdaty bbq. It was sunny but cool tonight, and by time the sun started going down, we were in fleece layers and thankful for the bonfire!  We were at Richmond Beach Park, which is north of Seattle, on the shores of Puget Sound. The Sound is salt water, off of the Pacific Ocean, and is the major water traffic route for ships going to/from Seattle. So we see all sorts of things go by - and there are trains at the base of the bluffs behind us, so all kinds of transportation!

So, to start off the evening, we ATE. A lot.  Here's Bertrum telling me what he wants from the grill:

After eating we walked around a bit to digest better, and Bertrum liked this welcoming statue that the Native Americans put up:

B really liked the beach! So many artistic scenes.

And then it was back to the bbq for second course: King's Hawaiian Rolls!

And a bit of beverage....

Bertrum superintended the beginnings of the mega-bonfire...

We went for another walk to make room for dessert:

Mmm, chocolate birthday cake!

And even tho it's Memorial Day, and almost June, when you're on the shores of Puget Sound, you bundle up!! Bertrum was cold and tired at this point and went to sleep in my big bag where he was warm and cozy.

We had a great time, and Bertrum is even more excited now about future trips, now that he knows what the beach is like. We have some island hopping planned for this summer, and in a couple weeks we're going to go play tourist all over town! Fun fun!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, it was a horrific week.  Not an excuse, but... I didn't feel like doing much of anything, and what energy and motivation I could muster went to the Project of DOOM, which is DONE!  Yay!  I have pictures of Charlie helping out, I'll try to get those posted... after the picnic this weekend.  I still have a lot of rehearsing to do, but... costume is DONE!  Cheesy
