I've been getting some interesting results with this - the colours aren't anything like I would expect!

Green dye gave me yellow yarn,
blue dye ended up with green yarn and best of all:

red dye ended up with grey yarn!!!!

The yarn I'm using is one I was given and I have no idea at all what the content of the yarn is (going to try a burn test tomorrow, when I've got some light!), and have been using vinegar and a microwave to do the dyeing.

I'm not bothered by the unexpected results - it's just for fun really and the results do make it more interesting - but would be nice to have some idea what was going on, and would love for things to be a bit more predictable!

Can any one shed any light/point me in the direction of more info?

i'm wondering what your fibre content is.  100% wool generally gives true colors, and definitly not grey from red!  Yellow from the green koolaid, I can see, maybe more of a chartruese, but definitly not yellow yellow.
I'm happy you are having fun!  I love transforming yarn and fibre!
