About a month and a half ago, my husband, my son & I decided to adopt a puppy.
We found a Irish Wolfhound, English Mastiff, Lab, Rotti cross. He was too old for anyone to want him anymore, gentle as all get out & just amazing. We fell in love & brought him home with us.
He was sad & depressed without all the other dogs around from his farm home, though. My husband decided a month later to get him a puppy. His friend had a dog that was raising her own litter, as well as fostering an abandoned litter of sharpei/pit bull pups.

We brought one of the fostered pups home with us. She's a lot more work than our laid back, gentle giant. But she keeps things interesting, that's for sure!

Wolfgang (the gentle giant) is a big fuzzy teddy bear, and she stays as close to him as possible to keep warm, as her hair is about 1/4" long and we've had some bizarre Canadian spring weather here.

To help her cope with the temperatures without feeling the need to be attached to her "big brother" 24/7, I threw together this little sweater made from an old sweater that I no longer wear.

What do you think?

The belly's a little loose on her, but as she's not even 3 months yet, I wanted room for it to grow with her throughout the spring.
When she's done growing, I plan on turning Wolfgang's sheddings into a crochet sweater for her...  Grin

Great solution!  I have been there with the growing pup that gets cold and know it's really hard to get excited about buying them full-priced clothes that they will soon out grow.  Also hard to get excited about spending money on materials and time on making them something that fits really well for just that week.  She is adorable in her reconned sweater!  She looks quite a bit like our pit/sneaky neighbor dog mix we adopted from a shelter in November, too.  Smiley

Best description ever of a dog breed? I think so!

Both of our pups are part "sneaky neighbour dog" With Pandora, we know what breed the sneaky neighbour dog is, though (pit bull) Wolfgang's mom is a mutt, and the dad is too, so his breeds are just what the owners could remember.
When we adopted Wolfgang, we actually went to look at a lab/collie cross pup, but fell in love with him instead... They had given up hope of finding him a home because of his age & size.

What a sweet girl. She looks lovely in her new sweater. She's lucky to have such a great dog-mamma Smiley.
