Makeup book/organizer

My brother's girlfriend requested this one. She saw something that I had made previously and wanted something similar for her makeup. She wanted scrappy, and her favorite colors are yellow, orange, and pink. I had a hard time with it because, 1) I dont wear makeup, and 2) my least favorite colors are yellow, orange, and pink. Oh boy.

I went to my local quilt shop and dug through their scrap bin for all the yellow, orange, and pink scraps I could find. Putting together the scrappy cover was the most fun, as well as adding the cover embellishments. There are a few different pockets, as well as a two page spread with two layers of slots for brushes, eyeliner, mascara, etc. All in all, I was really pleased with how it turned out, and will be giving it to her tonight! I hope she likes it.

I love this project.  You did a great job - the scrappiness and the embellishments are so pretty together - NICE WORK!!  I would love to receive something like this for a gift - and I don't wear much makeup either - I would use it for other cool stuff!  Like pens and pencils and little papers!  I really like the way it ties up with a wide ribbon.  Just a great organizer.
