While it's not as much of an issue now, when my little one was really little she was a really big puker--this meant I went through about 5 outfits daily so I needed clothing that could be quickly removed and washed easily.  So I started this shrug when she was about 3 months old.  By the time I finished it she was puking a whole lot less, but that's okay because I still love it.

The Back:

The Front:

The Pattern:
Two Toned Shrug
and for the DS9 this chart

because I was knitting top down I ended up mirror imaging the chart, but I think it still looks okay.

Pattern comments: I used 1 skein of the light purple, and 1 plus a bit of the dark purple.  I used 5mm and I think 3.5mm needles.  I did eyelet increases because at the time I didn't know another pretty increase technique... now i do so when I make another one I'll use it.  I was a little irritated that for the sleeves the number of stitches didn't result in even ribbing (ie I ended up with two knit sections together--next time I'll count first), and the sleeves are a little bulky so I might decrease the stitches early on.

Cursive_queen, it's not too bad as long as you know how to knit, purl, increase and pick up stitches you can make this.  The pattern was really straight forward, so I'm sure you could do it.
