Is that something under the bed?

I think it's drooling!

Never fear, a friend is near!

When this challenge was announced I figured reversible baby clothing would be a great way to enter, so I looked up baby shoe patterns but eventually dropped that idea as being way too fiddly, and settled on making a jumper.  I had lots of opposite ideas (a whole list to be precise), but settled on the one that I already had all the materials for.  I took some inspiration from this photo that I had seen around the interweb, but realized that in this house we don't tend to sleep with teddy bears.  The little one sleeps with a piggy and a zebra (the piggy being the brave one of the pair), so I paired her brave sleepytime friend with its opposite a monster under the bed.

Now for the clearer shots:

Piggy side:
Made from pink corduroy left over from a quilt I made my now 8 year old God daughter when she was born and some polar fleece.  I used a button for the nose because the little one loves buttons (and i thought it looked kind of cute)

With her dear friend Willi:

Close up of the Piggy Face:

What's a piggy without a tail?

Monster side:
Made from a very furry, muppet-ish knit fabric I've had kicking around for years.  The face is made from polar fleece.

Acting very monster-ish

The mouth is a pocket so the monster can actually eat things

I used a McCall's pattern that I've made it a few times before as gifts.  It's a bit big as I'm hoping to get some wear out of it before it is outgrown (and to be honest was in too much of a hurry to fold down the pattern).

All in all I had a great time actually taking a challenge idea and completing it for once.  It was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again.

Awesome! And by far more adorable than store bought tops (I wish sooooooo much that I'd made clothes for my tiddlies when they were tiny) Your girl's a real cutie too (and born model, however did you get her to stay still long enough?!)

Thanks, and she doesn't really stay still that long, my husband just snaps quickly with a DSLR...
