I've been making hair clips lately, after I got inspired by watching The Big Bang Theory and the episode with Penny's "Penny Blossoms". I was doing regular flowers with the singed fabric technique and decided to try a lotus. Here it is!

That's awesome!

I'm really jealous of anyone who can do singed fabric. I tried to do it once...it ended with my hair catching on fire and a vow to never try it again.

You may have been using the wrong fabric. I just set up a small tea light candle and slowly melt the edges of polyester lining for this.

Pretty Smiley very elegant, I make these too! I always try to get the edges to curl upward like a real flower but it never works out like yours.

I try to fold it so the edges are pointed up (if that makes sense), and then I go at the flame on the side of it, but try to get it to singe the fabric starting at the underside.
