I have to brag! I'm so proud of me! I wanted a lovely summer dress, and didn't want to go out and buy a pattern. I wanted something comfortable yet pretty. So I whipped up this baby! WDYT?

*please forgive my nasty photography, but I had no one to help me take a picture, and I've been meaning to post this for ages.*

Details:
The black with white dots top is shirred, it has a small ruffle at the top and bottom. I did ruffled straps as well. The skirt is sort of shirred into the top to give it a bit of give. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the top is very flattering, making me look flat on my tummy (soooo not the case!) and accentuates my hourglass waist.

I love it!

I must learn to shirr things so I may make one like it. Did you use a shelf bra or is it supportive enough on its own?

I am wearing my ordinary everyday black bra. It is hidden well by the straps and ruffle. Smiley

Nice! I've been sewing shelf bras in everything lately because of my never finding great bras.

I still like it... it's very flattering. Now to learn to shir, heh.

Lovely dress, you look great!  I really like the two fabric choices.
